Hello
My child has an adult tooth coming through in the back of his baby teeth (bottom front tooth), One of his baby teeth is loose. Is this normal for the adult tooth to not be directly underneath the baby teeth?
Child has Adult Teeth Showing but Only One tooth is Loose. OK?
yes its very normal. i'd go see a dentist or someone before it completely grows in (unless it already has) because once it fully grows, it'll stay crooked.
Reply:Well sometimes the other tooth can push out the baby teeth, but in my case my baby teeth didn't want to budge so i had to have them pulled. I would suggest taking them to the dentist because even if the adult teeth push the baby teeth out there could be a lot of damage done, and by that I mean that it might mean you need to get them braces to fix thier teeth or have braces for longer.

Reply:I'm sorry to hear that you have to go the denture route. But you are right you will feel better, not just physically but about your looks too. It is natural to be worried and nervous about any type of procedure. Just try to stay focused on the possitive and how good your smile is going to look after.
Good Luck!
Reply:Just focus on the end result which is a beautiful smile. They will give you meds to calm you down and likely make you groggy so your anxiety will go away during the procedure. Keep your eyes closed while they are working on you and try and think of happy things which will take your mind off what is happening. To get yourself to actually get into the chair as I said keep in mind how much better you will feel about your teeth afterwards.
Reply:Take a deep breath, there ya go, breath in, breath out. You are going to be fine, no need to be so upset, just remember that for a small bit of discomfort, you are going to come out with those pretty, white teeth. And you know that you have had pain with them up until now and after that one days pain on Wednesday, you will NEVER have another toothache.
Good luck, but I know you will be fine.
Reply:Good luck with your new white teeth.......false or real .
People's teeth are the first thing other people notice...especially if they are bad.
Reply:do you really have to have them pulled?
I mean, why dont you just get caps that cover the messed up teeth and make you look like you have perfect teeth instead?
and if you are going to get that done,I think you shold juat pay like 100 more or so and have them knock you out.....you go asleep, you wake up and theyre done....
i dont want to scare you but im going to be honest,i have had teeth pulled before and its not fun at all
its quite upsetting actually
and it can be very painful even with novecaine
its also very uncomfortable because when they pull them,it yanks on your head and jaw....
I cant believe theyre going to pull that many.........
there has to be a better option.......
you really want to have that many teeth pulled?
also when your teeth arent in,youre going to see what you look like and it will be quite disturbing....
However like you said, you will appear to have very pretty teeth after its done,so do what is best for you....
just be sure its what you want and its for the best.....
if you have the money for caps/crowns,i would definitely go that route instead.........having teeth pulled should always be the last resort......
another thing you could do,but its very costly is to have implants put in instead of using dentures....
good luck in whatever you decide
and you will get through whatever you chose to do

Teeth: ah that hurts?
teeth: ah that hurts
i am 14 and when ever i press my bottom teeth wiht my upper teeth, i feel a slight pain. is this a toothache or odes everybody have this extremely slight pain. i mean it barely pains , like almost nothing.
i want to take really good care of my teeth. what do i have to do.
so 2 questions: is that slight pain normal and how do i take reall good care of my teeth from home everyday
thanks in advance
Teeth: ah that hurts?
First off, is the pain coming from a specific tooth? If so look to see if you have a blackish brown area on it anywhere. If not do you grind or clench your teeth during the day or night. Most people that do, do it when they are asleep and don't realize it. To take proper care have them cleaned twice a year and examined once a year, brush in small circular movements, for at least a total of five minutes 2-3 times a day and floss 2 times per day. If anything setup and appt. with your dentist. But check these if you aren't quite ready.
Reply:probably a cavity that you can't physically see. You should go to the dentist.
Reply:i dont know
Reply:well th normal brush three times a day floss etc.
talk to your dentist cause your pain isn't normal to me even though its slight
Reply:Yah I know what that feels like. I just floss when that happens and brush and don't eat hard foods for awhile. A few days later it's gone. It comes back every now and then but I think it's normal.
Reply:Probably cavity. To see if it is, swish around cold water in your mouth, and see if it hurts.
Go to the dentist
Reply:go to the dentist and ask him or look it up on webmdhealth like any of us know
Reply:i don't know! go and see your dentist!!!
Reply:you may have a small crack in tooth. get it taken care of before it gets worse
Reply:This happens to me but it is nothing to do with tooth ache but because i grind my teeth in my sleep, perhaps this is what you have been doing?
Reply:Brush throughly 3 times and day and floss daily. Limit your intake of sugars.
Next time your at the dentist tell him/her what your experiencing...in the mean time stop doing what's making your teeth hurt.
Reply:There should be NO pain when you press your teeth together. You could have a cavity, or a problem with your jaw. See a dentist. He also can advise you on all the ways to daily take care of your teeth...brushing, flossing, rinsing with mouthwash, etc.
Reply:it might be a cracked tooth also your front teeth can have cavitys also rinse ever day brush also go vistit the (dent)

Crest and listerene has come out with a whitening mouthwash
try it... using baking soda to brush will recede your gums and cause sensitivity
I'm a dental hygienist.. see it everyday
Reply:Crest whitining strips are only about 20 dollars they work GREAT
Reply:Use alittle baking soda when you brush.

prblem isnt your teeth its your dental ligament. you need yo brush your teeth ans pass the floss twic a dya, then itll pass. only other reason it might hurt is if you had a trauma or braces

Very important question about teeth!!!?
2 of my molars r chipped. 1 of them on the left side of my mouth chipped about 1/4 of it off about 3 years ago and didnt get it fixed. i just started chewing with my rite side but the tooth eventually kept chipping slowly by slowly. then just 2day i was eating sum crutons and a molar on my rite side chipped a lil bit. not as bad as my left but a chip is a chip. i have not had my wisdom teeth pulled and sumtimes i get a VERY sharp pain in the tooth that was chipped on my left side. i drank a glass of milk everyday but this ive been skipping milk on and off. also i have a very hectic shcedule and dont always have a chance 2 brush my teeth. the tooth that chipped on my rite side 2day has a tooth growing directly under it and i dont remember ever losing the chipped tooth wen i was younger. WATS MAKING MY TEETH CHIP?? wat should i do 2 prevent it from happening again?? help plz

It sounds like you might wanna see a dentist. Apart from that, nutritional deficiencies can often be reflected in weak teeth. The calcium in dairy milk may help but you can do a lot of other stuff to improve your diet ie. staying away from desserts/candy, drinking vegetable juices, taking Kyolic capsules (a brand of garlic contained in tablet form), rubbing clove oil along your gums (I hear this works great), and drinking pineapple juice. pineapple is supposed to be very good for the teeth. All these factors will combine to give your body the nutrients it's probably starving for.
Reply:milk won't help
brush your teeth 2 times per day and floss once per day
your teeth are probably chipping because they have cavities in them
see a dentist
Reply:You can't really do much to prevent chipping---it just happens sometimes.
The sharp pain may be an infection, so you need to see a dentist ASAP. He can fill in the chipped areas, which will help keep them from getting worse. You also sound like you need to squeeze some time in your schedule to BRUSH twice a day. It only takes a minute--get up a minute earlier or something!
And get a cleaning every 6 months--the sooner a problem is found, the easier it is to fix!
Reply:The pain in your left chipped tooth could be a cavity and possibly your root is damaged. You need to brush your teeth at least twice a day, floss everyday, and if you want, use a fluoride rinse before you go to bed (after you brush and floss!). You need to see a dentist about the chipped teeth, they can reinforce the tooth so that it won't chip anymore. Oh, and you should get your teeth cleaned twice a year by the dentist.

Teeth sensitivity and shifting?
I was in a car accident a few weeks ago. Before the impact, I screamed, and once the impact occurred, my head was flung about and my mouth must have been forced/flung shut.
Immediately after the accident, my mouth was sore, and I could tell that some of my teeth had shifted and were not in the same place they had been before the accident. I also noticed that a couple teeth felt sensitive whenever I drank something cold.
I decided to wait a little while to see if the discomfort subsided. Well, after two weeks, I have gotten used to the moved teeth now, but the cold sensitivity has gotten much worse. I can't seem to drink anything even remotely cold without having to sit through pain for a good 20 seconds or more, until it subsides.
What could cause this? Are my teeth cracked? Should I visit a dentist (I have already scheduled an appointment), or some other form of tooth/mouth doctor?
Teeth sensitivity and shifting?
I haven't counted how much I've spent on dental this year -- it's a LOT! But it's all for good!
It sounds to me like you have exposed roots, or even oxygen (air) reaching deeper into the nerve channels. This is assuming you had great dental health before. But even if you didn't, this trauma may have exposed problems to come in a few years. Either way, you're seeing a dentist and when the X-Rays show what's really going on, you'll have some idea. They might be able to use some force (under anaethesia of course) to re-orient the teeth, since it's been a very short period. There's a ligament that each tooth sits within, and that has a certain amount of mobility -- it's why they can use a wedge to temporarily shift a tooth a small amount to give you a filling-- and then the tooth resets itself. Sounds like yours may have shifted enough that the bifurcations (where the roots branch off) are locked against each other; and it will be a simple matter of moving them.
Good Luck -- I know dental pain -- and I hope yours is over SOON... :)
Reply:yes u should go see a dentist.
Reply:i am also suffering from same problem but the pain only occurs when i drink some thing hot so i suggest you not to drink hot and cold things and this pain will start to fade in a week or two and you are also going to a dentist so be relaxed you teeth problem will be solved in no time
