Pregnancy hormones can change bacteria in your mouth that can cause you to get cavities. If you brush twice a day and floss at least once you shouldn't be getting these rampant cavities. you say your teeth feel rough - this could be calculus buildup, which is basically hardened plaque. Talk to your dentist to see if this is the case. you will need scaling and root planing done to remove the calculus if so, which should decrease your chance of cavities. The dentist can also assess your situation better, provide fluoride treatments in the office or take-home if needed, teach you to brush and floss in what might be a more efficient manner, etc. Definitley speak with a dentist.
Reply:when your pregnant your body diverts calcium and folic acid to the developing fetus so that is not an uncommon experience, that's why women take prenatal vitamins.
