Are teeth whiteners really safe for the teeth??

I was told by an assisant dentist that teeth whiteners are not really a good thing for teeth as it eventually breaks down the fibres within the tooth itself as the inner part is more fragile to it. Thus the tooth will eventually weaken. Have you heard this too?

carbamyl peroxide is the active ingredient in most products sold as whitening and they are not bad for your teeth. it makes your teeth a little touchy for a couple days following whitening and that's it. be careful believing what dental assistants tell you....they do not even go to college!
Reply:I have heard this also but I tried the whitening strips and they work buttttttttttt it made my teeth very sensitive so I stopped.
Reply:I agree to that... but it really whitens teeth,, you nah', 'everything-under-the-sun' has its own advantage and disadvantage/s... it's like laundry - you wash it, so it's clean,, but then you also harm it's fabric...

-you can try baking soda with a lil' salt.... it helps,,,,
Reply:Teeth whitners are that great and they ***** your teeth u by causing damage to the enamel, I'm getting my teeth whitened by the dentist, it will be the in-office bleaching one.
