Babies teeth??

Hi just wondering about my 10 week old baby boys gums and teeth. I know its not impossible for him to be getting teeth now but it is unlikely. Obviously this is my first baby so i am unsure on how the gums should look. i can see teeth. the shape and the whiteness where the tooth looks very close to the surface of the gum. My mum, who has 4 children says he is not teething but i just cant stop looking at them and thinking they look like teeth ready to break through??? advice please????

i can see my baby teeth when he was as young as 4 mo... but he started teething since he was 6 mo... how did i know, ? he was so cranky ... even though everything else is fine (no sick, so fever, no feeding problems, just some sleep problems on nite time)





but until now he is 10 mo, he hasn't any teeth yet





if he is dribbling a lot and out of sorts, he could be teething .. consult with docter about it

Reply:my first got a tooth at 4months, my 2nd at 8 months. your baby could very well be teething.
Reply:babies can get teeth early, its rare but not impossible because some are even born with teeth i know it seems hard too believe but its true and really rare. if you really believe that your baby could be teething then buy the teething rings and if hes crying do too it get the baby oragel. he should be OK oh and if you don't know for sure ask a doctor . best of luck
Reply:i doubt that he is teething already, but if he is just wait it out. it's not that big of a deal... you will know when he's teething. most babies will be more fussy, won't want to eat as much and will drool a lot. why are you so concerned about it? that's probably just the way his gums look... it's not teeth. talk to his pediatrician if you are so worried about it.
Reply:My son is 19months old and I remember thinking that too. I think it is just normal b/c their teeth are just below the gum line. Some babies get teeth as early as 3 months so it could be possibe. If he is drooling a lot and putting his hands in his mouth more that is a sign of teething. I'd get some Baby Oragel just in case tho. Good luck teething is no fun! :)
Reply:Babies gums look kinda white and weird... most babies don't get teeth until at least 5 months so he's way too young. My 7 1/2 month old currently has her two middle bottom teeth, that's it.
Reply:First, there's nothing to be worried about. You may see teeth or developing teeth that may not erupt for several months yet. But if they erupt sooner, it's no big deal. Simply talk to your baby's doctor about it. Some babies will have the teeth pulled, others will have them until they fall out when they're kids.
Reply:Here are some signs that I have heard may indicate teething (this is NOT a list of must requirement):


1) baby constantly scratches ear (I have no idea why)


2) baby drools a lot


3) baby makes sucking sounds (I guess sucking gums)


4) seems to cry for no reason, possibly looks like in pain





I've heard it's not good to teethe early because their teeth can rot that much earlier in age, especially since they are still only on milk and can't brush their teeth. Even if you brush for them, it's difficult to brush their teeth thoroughly. But it's not the end of the world. Plenty of babies teethe early.
Reply:if he stars drooling non-stop. . . then hes teething. My son got his first tooth at 3 months, so it could happen.
Reply:YOUR BABY IS DEFINITLY TEETHING. MY SON GOT HIS 1ST TOOTH AT A MONTH OLD. EVERY BABY IS DIFFERENT.
Reply:it sounds to me like he is teething- run your finger over his gums and if it feels bumpy and hard in one spot that's different from the other parts of his gums then it is a tooth. 10 weeks is young but not too young to get a tooth. They say the later the teeth come in the stronger the teeth are but that's just a saying. My kids got their first tooth at 4 months. Drooling and chewing on his hands is a sure sign of teething though. A mother always knows...:)
Reply:At least when my daughters teeth came in you couldn't really see the shape of a tooth. When they first broke through there were just two itty bitty holes in her gums in which you could see a speck of white. There was no outline of the rest of the tooth visible under the gum, it just grew up through the holes.





You might be seeing Epstein pearls. Or other random bumps on his gums. Of course, it is possible that he is actually teething.
