My son lost one of his front two teeth (bottom) a few months ago and today he lost the one right next to it. The new tooth (from the first lost tooth) is coming out a little behind where the other tooth was. Is this normal or do the teeth normally come out in the same spot?

YVONNE,
YOU ASK A VERY GOOD QUESTION. THERE IS NO HARD SET RULE FOR ALL KIDS BUT HERE ARE SOME GUIDELINES FROM THE ADA
http://www.ada.org/public/topics/tooth_e...
THE FACT THE PRIMARY TEETH HAVEN'T YET BEEN LOST WHILE THE PERMANENT TEETH ARE GROWING IN IS NOT A BIG DEAL. EITHER YOU OR THE DENTIST CAN EXTRACT THESE WHEN THEY ARE LOOSE ENOUGH.
Reply:They wil do a lot of shifting around as teeth are lost and regrow - I wouldn't worry about it.
Reply:if your really concered call and ask your dentist but it should be fine
