My son is 14 months old and has the top 2 teeth and 3 bottom teeth . The top 2 teeth are straight with a fairly big gap between and the bottom 2 teeth are crooked. He has never had a dummy and doesn't suck his thumb. He only has 1 bottle a day in the evening so hes not sucking on the bottle either. None of our family have crooked or gappy teeth. I am concerned even though he will lose these teeth that this is possibility of things to come is this true?
Crooked baby teeth is this unusual?
It's REALLY good to have a gap between your top two teeth. It is because when more teeth come in the teeth will move together and makes more space for the other teeth. It's not unsual to have crooked bottom teeth. Mine were when I was little and now they are strait. Most little kids' bottom teeth are crooked.
Reply:No, it doesn't matter one bit. They will fall out, and grow back, maybe even straiter. If not, theres always braces.....theres nothing you can do.
Reply:My son's two bottom front teeth make a V, it is very noticeable, it is possible they will turn more once his incisors are in (they are coming in now, he is also 14 months).
He also only sucked his thumb from 2 months to 6 months and is breastfed which is supposed to help prevent teeth malpositioning and help with proper jaw alignment.
Many moms of my mom's generation say their kids had crocked baby teeth and they had normal adult teeth.
Reply:wait till he gets more teeth.sometimes they straighten themselves out.if they dont, dont freak in a few years, he'll get new ones. then theres always braces.
Reply:It is normal.
Reply:My daughter was born with her two bottom teeth and they have always been crooked. The dentist says that it's normal for the bottom two teeth to be crooked so I'm not worried. Either way when he's older they will fall out.
Reply:Completely normal, my daughter was the same way until more teeth started coming in now they are beautiful!
