PLEASE HELP!: gap in teeth!?!?!?

i have 2 questions:

1. Between my front two teeth is a gap. problem is that the top part of the gap is closed, and in the middle of my teeth is where my gap starts. now, will braces fix the problem?or will they treat it like a chipped tooth? the gap is really bothering me!(i hope braces will fix the problem!)

2. i need braces anyway, but on the bottom row of teeth, theres this one tooth thats taller than the other teeth! when they straighten, what will they do with the tooth thats taller than the other one.? thanks~!

btw my teeth are better then how i described them. = ]

PLEASE HELP!: gap in teeth!?!?!?
you can buy orthodontic elastics. not the colored braces ones, but they clear ones that come in a bag. search for orthodontic elastics on ebay or stop by any local orthodontists office n be like can i have some elastics. anyways, put a band around the front teeth every day for like a year and they should be permanently pulled together like braces. faster and more effective, too
Reply:It is amazing what can be done with teeth now days. But you sould never let a problem like this bother too much. Its all in the part of growing up.
Reply:I would think that braces would fix that, unless its the shape of the tooth in question. But if they're just pitted against each other(as it sounds like it likely is), then braces will close it up, no problem.
Reply:A gap in your teeth is very attractive .I am having a major dental surgery .AND . I am having a gap . it looks like real teath. Depending on the gap. I am 58 and a man.
Reply:1) It depends on whether that's the shape of the teeth, or if they're actually tilted. However, it seems very minor that just a biteplate (removable appliance that has one bar in the front, but nothing attached to each tooth) might even be good enough to fix the little gap. Braces would be way too expensive and not worth it for such a small gap. If it's just the tooth shape, it can easily be "filled" exactly like you said, just treated as a chipped tooth.

2) Seems like you won't need braces for too long to fix the bottom teeth if that's the only thing! I'm pretty sure they way they'll fix it (if it's just a bit higher) is just lower it back into the bone a bit if that makes sense. The brackets would look like this on your teeth:

_ _ _ -- _ _

If that makes sense. As in, for the rest of the teeth the brackets will be in the middle, and for that one tooth the bracket will be cemented on the tooth a bit higher so that when the wire goes across them all it'll actually help pull the tooth down to the right level. Sorry I can't find any good pictures on the internet, but I hope that helps explain it a little!
Reply:1) Have you heard of Veneers?? They are like a fingernail for your teeth. They could fix the gap.

2) Take the Hygentists advise on the taller tooth.
