Wisdom Teeth Removal?

So Ok I don't know why I'm freaking over this. I'm 17 years old and I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed, I'm scared. The moment I found out that they were going to removed it I went online and looked for wisdom tooth removal and its info, but when I looked at its Risks and it mention "small risk of death" that just kill me right there (I mean yeah small risk but still). So I went looking for "wisdom tooth removal death" and yahoo archieve of news and found out of peopel who died during anesthesia or bled to death after or all this stuff. That just didnt make me feel any better. So I'm like in a battle on my head whether to go with it or not. I don't know if this kind of matter but my jaw is not very big so my mouth is kind of small (does that effect the proccess of my teeth being removed?). So should I get my wisdom teeth removed (top ones are not even out yet) even though I'm like sacred to death and if should I do it awake since I'm scared of like dying being sleep?

Wisdom Teeth Removal?
I just got my wisdom teeth removed less than 2 weeks ago, Im only 16 and all of my wisdom teeth were under the gums, they had to cut the gums and break the teeth to remove them. Sounds pretty scary huh well there is nothing to be worried about i felt ZERO pain during the surgury or after !!! I was a nervous wreck and I didnt need to be! Just take the medicine the doctor gives you and you will be fine. Good luck =]
Reply:Its not a big prob. at all got all 4 of mine removed my senior year. It was all over before I knew and I felt no pain at all. They gave a small pill to take 1 hour before I arrived, by time I arrived I was a little out of it, then they hooked me up to a IV and I was out in seconds and dont remember a thing, next thing I know I in recovery. They will not let you die is a simple procedure. They give you pain medication, if needed but the pain is really not bad at all just a little sore. RELAX you will do just fine and you wont remember a thing. Good Luck!!!!
Reply:I got all 4 of mine taken out at the same time. I was scared too, so I told the dentist, and he asked if I wanted to be put under so I wouldn't feel anything, but I was still scared just like you were, about bleeding, dying, etc. So they put me under, but I don't remember falling asleep, and the next thing I knew, I had all of them out. It did hurt a lot, but it only took a few days for the pain to go away. And fyi, I don't like needles, but if I can do it, and be OK, you'll be just fine.
Reply:Don't worry - you are just freaking out! And stop thinking and stop searching for those kind of info. I had 3 removed and I'm still alive... Don't be scared and don't believe that you will die during or after the surgery because it's not going to happen to you!!! You will just wake up and everything will be done and be happy that you've taken care of those babies... Good luck!
Reply:everyone is different and will react different to the anasthesia and pain. I had all of mine taken out and was afraid because I had heard it was VERY painful, but I had no trouble at all. I was tense when I was going to go under, but the doctor was very nice and I don't remember a thing. I had all 4 removed, some they had to cut the gum too, next thing I remember I was in recovery and didnt have pain afterwards. just follow the instructions on how to keep them clean and what to eat/not eat so you won't hurt your mouth, and you should be okay! good luck!
Reply:Quit reading the horror stories. You could die just as easily walking across the street. Let them knock you out to remove them. You don't want to be awake and listening to the cutting and grinding. Yes, they will squish your other teeth together if you don't get them removed. After years and years of wearing braces, before my bottom wisdom teeth even broke completely through the skin, my bottom front teeth were pushed together and started overlapping - that was it - time to get the wisdom teeth taken out. Take a tranquilizer before you go - they should offer you one if you tell them you're nervous.
Reply:I think you should go ahead and get it done. I had it done around that age too. You might want to ask the oral surgeon to see his credentials and ask does they have a good reputation?. Having a small mouth doesnt make it harder for them. They have this device that holds your mouth open while you are sedated. In addition, another question to ask are they certified by the dental board?.
Reply:there a also serious health risk by not having them removed. Such as tumors and cancer and a few other things along those lines. But dont worry if you have a good dentist carry out the procedure you will be just fine. When mine were removed mine were not threw the gums yet because they had turned and were growing toward my other teeth beneath the gums cuz there wasnt room and when they cut my gums and were taking those out they found out i was a free bleeder and hey im fine. i didnt bleed to death because my dentist knew exactly what to do in a time like that and took the proper steps to deal with such.
